14th March 2004 Windsurfing: borth estuary Wind Direction: sw Wind Stength: 14 to mad Surf / Sea State: flat Air Temperature: 12 Sea Temperature: cold Weather: sunny Max Speed: Distance Covered: We spent Saturday night camping at Borth for first time this year. During the early hours of the night we almost got blew off the site back to Shewsbury. When i got down to the sea front it was blowing force 3-4 with a very rough sea and no one out, so i decided to go and have a look at the estuary. The conditions were flat and gusty but had to have a go... so i rigged my 7m and went out on the bee, and soon found it to be the wrong choice!!! stayed with it for half hour but had to come in for my 6m. Really enjoyed it as it was the 1st sail for 4 months, and managed some nice carves. The wind started to pick up and did a few wild runs with just the fin in the water, so dicided, once again, to change down to my 5m. Had some ace fast water blasting and did some nice carves. So all in all a great day surfing. |
